Candia Atwater, CMCArts President and Founder, “is the epitome of persistence in motion.”* She has been dedicated to the promotion of local and regional Caribbean art for over a decade.

Established the award winning Island Art and Soul Calendar – published annually since 1994.

Traveled throughout the region collecting Caribbean art to form the basis of the museum’s collection and to support artists.

Began her search for a permanent home for the museum in 1994.
