Spice up your nights with the energy and rhythm of Salsa! Born in the Caribbean and perfected in New York City, Salsa is one of the most popular social dances in the world. In this fun and engaging class, Rodney will break down the basic steps, helping you build confidence and style on the dance floor. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm! Know the basics but looking to sharpen your moves, this class is also for you!. Partners are encouraged, but not required (ticket price for couple $35).. Get ready to move, groove, and impress your friends with your new Salsa skills! Bring Water Wear clothes & shoes that you can move in. Dance floor is wooden. Instructor Rodney Lopez, CMCArts Artist-in-Residence: Rodney Eric López is an accomplished educator, artist, and non-profit leader. His diverse professional background includes successful tenures in teaching artistry, training, coaching and facilitation, corporate communications and public relations, and nonprofit leadership. Featured in the hit documentary Mad Hot Ballroom, Rodney fosters teamwork and collaboration with high energy and easy-to-follow social dance classes, and facilitates thought-provoking workshops on giving, fundraising, and values-based leadership. He is a board member of New Urban Arts and the Providence Public Library and is a proud member of the Rhode Island Foundation's Equity Leadership Initiative. Rodney holds a B.S. in Communications Studies from New York University where he was a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar. He holds a certificate in Spiritual Entrepreneurship from the Glean Network and Venture for All Program at Columbia Business School.
