Moore, CMCArts Artist-in-Residence $50 for all sessions! CMCArts Summer Theater Session will be filled with exciting, innovative creativity and fun! Through transformative theater sessions, we will dive into the importance of making choices, exploring social issues and offer expressions on being a positive contributor to a global society. Week 1 - SELF DISCOVERY THROUGH THEATER - These necessary skills such as physical and vocal training (speaking), and improvisation form some of the foundations of acting. The student actor also needs to have an awareness of self and others, space and time. Week 2 - EXPLORING CREATIVITY and MOVEMENT FOR THE STAGE -. In theater class the time to experiment with how to use their bodies on stage, materials, props, and scripts, highly engages a student actor's creativity. Creative writing gives and open door to understanding thoughts and feelings. Week 3 - PERFORMANCE PREPERATION - On stage actors learn to embrace what makes them and their character unique. They will use the whole stage, avoid lapses in energy, know their audience and understand that practice makes perfect. Week 4 - THE PERFORMANCE - We will present a production that we love and understand, sharing our collective vision with the audience. Using stage presence and confidence, vocal control and expression, growth will be displayed. Our body language and movement will show our adaptability and resilience! About the Instructor My name is Selentia The Motivator Moore! I was born and raised in the inner city of Washington DC. My single parent Mother did all she could to point me in positive and successful directions. ln spite of the rough neighborhood where I grew up, I excelled in academics and the arts. I was fortunate to matriculate at the prestigious Brandeis University as the only African American Theater Arts graduate in 1991. I graduated with honors in theater. Since 2003, our organization has trained youth, ages 5-18 in acting, dance, creative writing, instrumental music, spoken word and visual arts. Our arts program focuses on character development and becoming a positive asset to a global society. Exposure is everything at THE BIG DREAMS BROJECT. We have performed on several national and local television including Good Morning America and live on stage at Disney World.
