Tuesday, October 21 4:45pm-5:45pm Age 7-14 Location: St. Gerard's Hall next to St. Patrick's School CMCArts is excited to welcome Caribbean Dance School, under the direction of Artistic Director Curliss Solomon-John, to teach a unique style of Afro-Caribbean dance. Rooted in West Indian dance traditions including Spanish and French influences and blended with West African movements, this style comes alive through the rhythmic drumming and music of the Caribbean. Students learn to move with energy, expression, and joy while celebrating the culture and spirit of the Caribbean. What to Wear: Students should wear dance attire, such as a leotard tights, if they don’t have, they can also wear a fitted T-shirt with leggings or sweatpants. no shoes is required, but no problem wearing dance shoes. Wear gym clothes that you can move in. **Bring Water** About the Instructor: Curliss Solomon-John, Artistic Director Curliss is a founding senior member of Caribbean Dance Company of the Virgin Islands. Born on St.Croix., Curllis has been a stellar soloist and choreographer for many V.I. Productions since childhood. As a lead soloist in CDC’s professional company, she won praises for her dance artistry all over the world. Curllis has been working in her present capacity as Instructor and Director of Caribbean Dance School and Company of the Virgin Islands Inc.
