Pride Through Art
St. Croix Pride 2021 is pleased to announce an event, Pride Through Art, to be held at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts (CMCARTS), in Frederiksted, on Thursday, June 3rd from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
This event will include the opening of an exhibit of art by LGBTQ artists and allies, musical presentations, reception with food, and cash bar.
This event is part of the St. Croix Pride Month, June 2021.
This year our Art Show will go virtual and will be displayed online at the Museum’s Online Website -à
Exhibitors are invited to apply for participation. Applications are due by April 30th, 2021 with completed pieces delivered to CMCArts by Saturday May 22nd, 2021.
Entries should focus on LGBTQ themes and celebrate diversity and multiculturalism.
LGBTQ artists have historically been invisible in the mainstream art world. This position has denied them opportunity to display their unique perspective or to comment on themes and issues pertaining to gender identity and society in their art. The Pride Through Art Exhibit will allow LGBTQ artists and allies to showcase their talents in visual arts, sculpture, music, spoken word, and dance.
