Empowered Motherhood: Liberation + Wellness

This workshop is designed to create a supportive + empowering environment for mothers. It focuses on the themes of liberation, mindfulness, + collective care in maternal mental health. Participants will engage in activities + discussions that challenge societal norms, explore personal + collective well-being, + envision a future of empowered motherhood.

Liberation Dialogue: Breaking Barriers, Building Freedom

Activity: Engage in a facilitated discussion about societal expectations, cultural norms, + the impact of historical oppression on maternal mental health. Interactive Element: Utilize a “Liberation Wall” where participants can express their thoughts + ideas

visually.

Purpose: Deepen understanding + strategize collective actions toward personal + communal liberation.

Mindfulness Exercises: Cultivating Inner Peace

Activity: Participate in guided mindfulness exercises, including deep breathing + visualization techniques.

Purpose: Provide tools to manage stress + promote mental clarity + well-being.

Collective Care + Support: Building a Community of Empowerment

Facilitated Discussion

Topics:

  • Define + understand collective care in the context of maternal mental health.
  • Explore barriers to collective care, such as stigma + cultural expectations.
  • Discuss strategies for creating + maintaining support networks.
  • Highlight the role of shared experiences in reducing isolation + building resilience.

Healing Circles

Activity: Break into small groups for healing circles, where participants practice active listening + mutual support.

Purpose: Foster a sense of community + shared responsibility while equipping participants with

practical strategies for building support networks.

Visioning + Closing: Planting Seeds of Liberation

Activity: Engage in a guided visualization exercise where participants envision their future as

empowered mothers. Follow this with writing down hopes + intentions for their journey forward.

Purpose: Empower participants with a clear vision of their future + actionable steps toward

achieving it.

Reflective Journaling + Sharing (Optional)

Activity: Provide time for participants to reflect on their experiences in the workshop, noting key

takeaways + personal commitments.

Purpose: Encourage introspection to ensure the workshop’s impact continues beyond the session.
