About the Event

Getting Ready for Tomorrow Production will showcase both our youths and teens who have been working with Director Selenita Moore, CMCArts Artist-in-Residence for the month of June.  Through transformative theater sessions, the participants were able to learn  the importance of making choices, exploring social issues and offering expressions on being a positive contributor to a global society.

THE YOUTHS:

Our  talented youths will present a one act adaptation of Grace Bradford’s timeless classic children’s play, “Getting Ready for Tomorrow!” In the play, through creative movement and acting, the children are inspired to make good choices in spite of other influences.

THE TEENS:

Our talented teens will present a confident prelude from the song title, “I AM BUILDING SOMETHING” by Eboni Gibson. They will display stage presence and public speaking, with points of interest, through acting, that they themselves created in our sessions.

About the Director CMCArts Artist-in-Residence:

My name is Selentia The Motivator Moore! I was born and raised in the inner city of Washington DC. My single parent Mother did all she could to point me in positive and successful directions. ln spite of the rough neighborhood where I grew up, I excelled in academics and the arts. I was fortunate to matriculate at the prestigious Brandeis University as the only African American Theater Arts graduate in 1991. I graduated with honors in theater.  Since 2003, our organization has trained youth, ages 5-18 in acting, dance, creative writing, instrumental music, spoken word and visual arts. Our arts program focuses on character development and becoming a positive asset to a global society. Exposure is everything at THE BIG DREAMS BROJECT. We have performed on several national and local television including Good Morning America and live on stage at Disney World.
