Youth: Ages 8–12 Wednesdays: September 9, 16, 23 & 30 4:00–6:00 PM Get creative after-school! In this hands-on art program, youths ages 8–12 will explore a variety of art mediums and techniques while creating their own unique works of art in a small-group setting. With more than 20 years of experience as an art educator, Jessica Parker White will guide students as they experiment with materials, develop new skills, and discover their own artistic voice all while having fun in CMCArts courtyard. Each week, students will explore a new medium and creative concept: Watercolor Painting – Explore color, blending, and creative techniques. Spray Paint Art – Experiment with layering, stencils, and bold Caribbean-inspired imagery. Printmaking – Create original prints using hands-on printmaking techniques. Sculpture – Build and shape a three-dimensional work of art. Come ready to experiment, get creative, and make some art! About the Instructor: Jessica Parker White has been the CMCArts Education Coordinator since 2021, organizing vibrant and enriching programs for ages 2 to adults. She played a pivotal role in launching several key initiatives, including Little Artist Days, School Outreach Programs, CMCArts Children’s Parade Troupe, and Summer Series. Previously, she taught art at Arthur A. Richards Junior High School from 2004 to 2021 and served as the National Junior Art Honor Society Sponsor. She earned her Master of Arts in Education from the University of the Virgin Islands in 2012 and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from James Madison University in 2002.
