Service Description

This class is for beginning students (Age 16-Adults) who have never used a potter's wheel. The potter's wheel is a tool to make perfectly round vessels; this class teaches how to use the wheel. Everyone will be able to make a pot! All materials included. Firing fees will be charged based on size of work. About the Instructor: Sara Lee Hayes is a self taught artist/potter living on St. Croix in the USVI for 40 years. She graduated from Wheaton College (MA) in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. Her pottery training began in 1974 with adult education classes at a local high school and has continued with books and videos, trial and error, and lots of practice. She is the clay studio manager at CMCArts.
