Service Description
Students in this class must have previous experience using a potter's wheel and be able to form a pot using the wheel. Instruction will focus on improving skills and creating more complex forms such as teapots, forms with lids, larger vessels, or altering thrown forms, for example. There is so much that can be created. All materials included. Firing fees will be charged based on size of work. About the Instructor: Sara Lee Hayes is a self taught artist/potter living on St. Croix in the USVI for 40 years. She graduated from Wheaton College (MA) in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies. Her pottery training began in 1974 with adult education classes at a local high school and has continued with books and videos, trial and error, and lots of practice. She is the clay studio manager at CMCArts.
