Age 10-13 FREE Sponsored by The Artists Guild of St. Croix Saturday, April 27 10am-Noon CMCArts Courtyard Learn to paint a moko jumbie with artist Tamara Michael. Students have the option to utilize a stencil as a helpful tool for sketching their moko jumbie. Following this, Tamara will provide instructions to the students on paint mixing techniques and demonstrate how to apply the paint onto their canvas. Each participant will then get to paint their own unique moko jumbie! About the instructor: Tamara Michael studied fine arts at Georgian College in Ontario, Canada. The desire for warmer climates and adventure, had her gravitating southward. After thirty years in central Florida she finally landed on St. Croix in August of 2017 with her wonderful husband Jay. Classically trained in drawing, painting and printmaking, she branched out into recycled sculptures. Cleaning up with a twist. Tamara also creates copper jewelry and enjoys “gathering treasures” which inspires her creations. Tamara says, “I always receive what I need to create”.
