Age 16-Adults Tuesdays: April 16 & 23 6:00-7:30pm Location: St. Gerard's Hall, St. Patrick Church, Frederiksted AFRO- CONTEMPORARY DANCE Afro-contemporary combines the versatility of contemporary dance with African dance techniques. It is practiced with bare feet so that you can be more connected to the earth. Nielsen, born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Croix, USVI. Received her BFA in dance at Jacksonville University, master's degree from Florida State University, and obtained her Ph.D at Kingdom Truth University. With an avid entrepreneurial spirit, the non-profit performing arts organization “Movement 340: A Passion Thru Every Step” is Elle’s current up and coming business. Building back communities through the creative and influential forces of performing arts. In 2020, she published her first poetry book, her first academic journal in 2022, and has been afforded the profound opportunity of traveling abroad to various parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, and inter-regional Caribbean islands through the pursuits of dance and academia. Harriet Tubman said, “every great dream begins with a dreamer, always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”. Wholeheartedly, she has embraced that philosophy through her relentless passion, which is the dream of dance excellence.
